The main task facing the designers of "clean" transportation is to reduce the energy consumption of vehicles, systems, and complexes to a level where their energy supply can be achieved through power plants that do not rely on carbon-based fuels.
Therefore, mass ground transportation (at least for freight and public passenger transport) in order to meet the requirements of future transport, must be electric and necessarily rail-based."
